Estamos en la Aalto University, en Finlandia, conociendo de primera mano la Aalto BIM Iniciative que dirige desde hace dos años el profesor PhD Singh Vishal. La iniciativa surge desde el Departamento de Ingeniería Civil y Estructural,

” …The BIM initiative at Aalto University aims at combining established streams of research on BIM, design knowledge management, lean construction and service engineering and management to realize the promise of BIM in improving operational effectiveness and performance over the life-cycle of the built environment”.

Además de tener proyectos de investigación con doctorandos, principalmente en Facility Management y Lean Construction, hay un especial interés en abordar la gestión conjunta de ciclo de vida del edificio (BIM ecosystem), con todos los agentes. Tienen interesantes propuestas de trabajo con la Escuela de Computer Science con el profesor Kary Framling, con los que estuvimos viendo sus desarrollos con sensores y modelos destinados a Facility Management.

Por otro lado, existe un importante trabajo de integración en los cursos de Bachelors, con los conceptos básicos BIM en construcción y su desarrollo en Master, en el que coincidimos en muchos puntos para posibles colaboraciones.

Nos anima el interés que han mostrado por nuestros cursos en herramientas Tools Training que realizamos en formato taller en la Universidad Europea de Madrid a través de BIMLabUEM, para alumnos, profesores y incluso algunos abiertos a cualquier profesional. Estamos invitados a colaborar en los próximos talleres que organizan en Abril-Mayo en su escuela.

Pero sobre todo, estamos decididos en trabajar en futuros proyectos de investigación europeos, en los que se pueden integrar otras universidades, organizaciones y empresas para unificar estándares europeos, que según ambas universidades son necesarias para un verdadero desarrollo BIM de la construcción en Europa.
